Easy to build

These blocks were quite easy for my 6 year old to assemble following the construction plans that build by level. We had a great conversation about the fish that is placed in the bottom of the pyramid, although there is no mummy. There are some stairs you place inside but they don't really lead anywhere and aren't accessible unless you take your pyramid apart. The assembled set was a bit smaller than I thought it would be but the blocks are very well finished and my son did not seem disappointed. Overall, a nice teaching companion and a good set of blocks.

So That is How They Built the Pyramids!

Ok, so the set doesn't tell you how the Egyptian's built the pyramids, but it does provide a simple step by step guide to recreate your own. The set itself contains the right number of pieces. Not too many where it would require the adult to do most of the set, but not to few where it is too simple for the child. My 3 year old is a really methodical thinker and he likes to follow directions step by step, so he really likes to build this over and over. The pieces are well cut and finished so they line up simply. Perhaps the only downside of the set is that it is a bit of a one trick pony. All you can really build with it is the pyramid. However if your child likes to build all sorts of things with blocks that is not a big deal. A pyramid can be part of a block ancient world, perhaps a slide dolls, or actually you could probably use the blocks to make some cool ramps for cars and trucks.
