These blocks are great!

These blocks are absolutely worth the investment. They are very sturdy and perfectly shaped, neither to light (like some other blocks that will easily topple over if you try to stack them) nor are they to heavy (so you don't have to be afraid to get hurt when a big tower falls over!). The blocks are a nice size which makes them easy to handle for small hands. The variety of different shapes in this set offer endless possibilities for creative little (and big) architects. I must say, I have as much fun building with them as my 3-year old!

Lovely Blocks

We love Haba blocks and the Haba block system. This set is great, perfect and complete. But, there are add on sets to get if you want, such as mirrors, triangles, kaleidoscopic and castle blocks. (Just be sure you get Haba's standard size block complimentary sets -- the architectural master builder sets are great in their own right, but are a smaller, tabletop size block that won't be compatible). What I love about the Haba block system is, although seemingly expensive, it's a toy that really grows and adapts with your children. For instance, we are still using our Haba Fantasy Blocks, from baby days, with this set. Now, we've added a marble run to build marble paths through a block city. This is not my personal situation -- but getting a Haba starter set of blocks for your child as a big present, and suggesting to family which add-ons you'd like -- would be the perfect way to avoid the gift clutter that often haunts so many on birthdays and holidays. At the end of the day, you'd simply have a very nice block collection.
