Adorable but not durable

This is such a cute set of instruments from a toy company that's been in business since 1831. I figured that meant the toys were very high quality. Unfortunately, the drum in this set broke within a week. It looks as if the material used for the drum is paper--not a good design for a child's toy. We have other drums that have lasted years in our home. I wish Sevi would have made a more durable drum. So while I give the drum 2 stars, I give the castanets, maracas, and triangle 4 or 5 stars. They are wonderful instruments and the sound from the maracas is really nice. The castanets are beautiful and well-designed. This set would make a wonderful addition to your musical collection, so long as you realize that the drum should be used only under strict adult supervision and put away when not in use.
