A really nice toy

I bought this toy for my twin toddler boys. I am a devoted Haba customer so I knew I would like. The blocks themselves are works of art. The sorter is very nicely made also. The only negative thing I have to say is that the sorter is not deep enough. There are a few different blocks that can be placed into the circle hole. This becomes a problem if you want to place more then one block into that space at a time. If you don't move aside the first "circle" block dropped in, the second one will not drop in. That was why I gave it four stars instead of five. I feel this is a minor thing compared to how lovely the entire toy is. I would buy this for friends and family.

My Daughter Loves These Blocks and Sorter!

My daughter loves these blocks-- they are brightly colored, beautifully painted, and all uniquely shaped. She especially loves the clear prism block. The Shape Sorter is great as well because it is so easy for my daughter to play with. The two lids on top lift easily so she can access the blocks that have been put inside, and the handle makes for easy carrying. The little porthole mirrors on the side just add to the cuteness of the whole sorter. I love the Haba quality!

so much nicer than I expected!

This toy is wonderful! I read some reviews elsewhere that made me worry that the sorter would be too small. I think it is exactly the right size--not huge, of course, but definitely big enough for a child to enjoy playing with. The blocks are so cool--each one is different and intriguing. I like that the sorter is made of cloth, and not tricky for the child to open like some others. I also love that this one is actually made in Germany. This is a winner!

Not the best starter sorter

I loved this sorter when we first got it for my son at a year old. But when he started to put the shapes in, I realized that this is not the best starter sorter out there. First of all, most of the shapes fit in the round hole, like the star. (They are supposed to go in there, which is confusing because it is not shaped like a star). He caught on to this pretty quick, and he tried to put all of the shapes in the round hole. The rectangle piece actually has to be turned on its side to fit in its hole, which is also confusing, because all the other shapes go with their pictures up. He did however love the wooden pieces when he was little, especially the one with the bell in it. But for a starter shape sorter I would go with the plan toys box.

The toy that keeps on getting played with

We have had this sorter for over a year and a half. Our son played with it as a baby through about 2 and a half years old. Now our 6 month old girl plays with it. It is still looks new! The kids love the blocks and placing them into the lid. The box is sturdy and stain resistant. This is a toy we have never regretted buying.
