Last a Life Time!

This set is sturdy and colorful. The blocks make a great first set. The blocks are large and easy to handle for little hands. The people, trees, and other accessories can be added to extend the play possibilities for an older child. The little Amsterdam blocks are great for hours of imaginative play.

super nice set

I can see that the interesting shapes, animals and people--and teeny park benches!--spark my six-year-old's imagination. I want to encourage imaginative play, and this is a super nice set that is more intricate than those for babies and toddlers.

Great set

After my daughter turned three, she needed a bit larger of a block set. This was perfect because it comes with little animals, benches and people. And, it perfectly compliments her oter Haba sets. We do keep the small blocks in a seperate box because they are a choking hazard to little sisters, but most of them can be mixed right in with the household blocks. A great deal.

Amsterdam...or Hong Kong...or a Country Village...

This is a fabulous set. It is such good qualiy. While it is called Little Amsterdam, the pieces are so flexible that is can be a multitude of different places. I gave it as a gift and have been amazed what the children come up with. The small rectangular blocks can fit into the buildings' slots to look like doors, or they can be used for lots of other things (I saw the children use them as beds for the little people or as fences around little gardens.) I can't wait to buy one for my son as well when he gets a older.
