Is it a European plum?

When my teenagers were just outgrowing pretend play, I discovered Haba foods and was so sad that I couldn't rationalize the investment. How happy I am, that I now have young children again and have a great reason to start collecting. Haba foods are adorable! They are of great quality and perfect for little hands. The plums are cute, but they don't quite look like the plums we eat. Still, my daughter finds them believable and they look cute in her fruit basket.

Spin the plum!

It is really nice and smooth wood. It's so bright and pretty in the basket of toy fruit. It doesn't look like real plums I see around here, though. It's a beautiful, true blue and not purple in color at all. The shape is also tall and thin rather than short and fat. We also noticed that this plum makes a very nice spinning top!

Not as realistic as other haba food

This is well made and very cute, but I don't think it looks like a plum. I had to tell my daughter it was a plum, but she was perfectly happy to play with it. The rounded texture makes it easy to hold and my daughter has taken it on several outings with her.
