Haba eggs

Yet another amazing toy from Haba. We recieved these as a gift and my son's first comment was that they are in a "real" egg carton. The eggs are silky smooth. My kids love to just carry them around. The only downside is that the paper/cardboard carton doesn't stand up very well to two boys! But that's okay the eggs are so wonderful and you can always use an egg carton from your grocer.

very life like

the eggs are about the size of a medium egg, and pretty indistructable, the box can be replaced at the store, just go to the dairy isle and buy the tiny 1/2 dozen box

Excellent for pretend play!

We took away the egg carton that came with these, and replaced it with a little basket. My kids love the little eggs, and take care to be gentle with the basket, in case they break them ;-) Perfect for pretend grocery shopping or cooking.

No cracks in these eggs

These eggs are a wonderful addition to the fridge. They are beautifully made and are the perfect size for small hands. The egg carton made it about 6 months, then we had to toss it. My daughter uses a wooden crate instead, which makes them look as if they are fresh from the farm.

Life saver!

Our son liked to play with real eggs. Every time he got his hands on them we had a mess! I got these eggs hoping to divert him from the real ones and it worked!!! We had some other eggs before, but he did not like them. Haba ones look so real that they saved us a lot of cleaning up!

Eggcellent!

These eggs are a really nice, little size. They are perfectly shaped out of nice, heavy wood. My daughters really enjoy them. The eggs are a perfect compliment to all the other Haba foods my kids have. I just wish Haba made brown eggs too? from free range chickens of course!

My boys love them

Both my boys love these eggs. As other reviews have noted, the egg carton is just a standard cardboard egg carton, and is not designed to withstand much play. But on the up side, it's easy to replace with a trip to the grocery store! My older son likes to make "chicken soup" by mixing these eggs with the HABA stew mix. A great choice in play food!

Realistic and just adorable!

These eggs are just adorable. The eggs are so realistic and sturdy. The only downside is the carton, which my daughter tore on the first day. She's 2. This might be suitable for an older child. Nonetheless, this is a great product and I would definiltey buy it again.

Eggcellent eggs!

These eggs are super smooth, weighted well and are about the size of real small eggs you would buy from your local farmer. They come adorably packaged in thier very own little carton which makes them even more realistic. They are not the usual brown that free-range eggs are, but there is no mistaking that these are eggs alright. My daughter recognised them immediately as eggs even though the ones we buy are always brown. We bought a dozen eggs (2 cartons) and plan to put them in a small basket as it's more durable than the carton in the long term. It also looks lovely sitting there on the play kitchen counter - It adds a nice country feel.

A favorite of kids and Mom!

All 3 of my girls (twin 3 yr. olds AND my 9 year old) LOVE all the Haba food, and these are a particular favorite. They're perfect for store or kitchen play, carrrying in baskets, even just holding and looking at! They are just beautiful, I love how the wood grain shows through. Only negative, of course, is the carton. It, too, is adorable and realistic, but in our case lasted about 2 days. Still, highly recommended!

A real thing!

I love these eggs. It so cute that they have a real box!!!. Perfect for any pretend cook-off. Look very real and are perfect size for little hands. However make sure hands are too small! Little ones may choke putting them in their mouth so make sure your baby is old enough to play with this great toy.

one of the most played with items

These eggs are always making their way around the house. They are definitely one of the favorites in the play kitchen. They go in the "blender", in the shopping cart, in the soups.... They feel fabulous in the hand, so smooth. I actually like that you can see the wood grain through the stain. My only complaint is that the egg carton didn't last long. We ended up just tearing the top off so the bottom could still be used. Either way it's cute. I can't really see how they could improve on the carton unless they used plastic, and that woulnd't really be an improvement.

The Best of the Bunch

Of everything we have purchased so far, these come out ahead. Great weight, shape, and they are just too cute to boot. If you buy one thing from Haba, let it be the eggs. The wooden tea bags were also a huge hit, so if you plan on doing tea time in the future, put them on your list as well.
