Another Great Puzzle from Chelona
I just adore the Chelona puzzles, and this one is no exception. It's our first 3-layer puzzle and is easier to do than I anticipated. My 3-year and 4month old was able to handle it with no problems. It's lightweight and tucks into the box for travel. The pieces are thin, but seem sturdy, and feel good in your hand. We'd buy this one again in a heartbeat.
Great puzzle, but would recommend for slightly younger than 3
I actually got this for my son when he was only 2 1/2 and I thought that was just the right age. This seems to be the easiest of the Chelona 3-layer puzzles, since the pieces have a lot of straight lines. My son found this puzzle a great challenge, and he worked quite obsessively on it until he got it right. I like this one best of all the Chelona puzzles I have seen, because the story of building a house is quite appealing to children and easy to follow. This is also a great way to teach the concept of history (what comes first, what comes later?).
Our favorite Chelona puzzle
My son loves tractors and construction machinery so he loves this puzzle that depicts how a house is built. I love that it's compact but somewhat complex. It was the perfect difficulty from about 2.5 years to 3 years and small enough that I could take it along with us to keep him occupied in restaurants or doctor's offices. We have Chelona's layered weather puzzle and the fit isn't as good as this house one. I only wish it came in a nice carrying case like the Crocodile Creek puzzles do.
